Dad’s Cranberry Sauce – This is the season to indulge in the rich flavors of the holidays, and what better way to elevate your festive feast than with a homemade batch of luscious cranberry sauce? This classic condiment adds a burst of vibrant color and a sweet-tart kick to your holiday spread, making it an essential companion for everything from roast turkey to glazed ham.

Ingredients

-2lbs. Fresh or frozen cranberries
-1/3cup Pure maple syrup
-1/2tsp. Cinnamon
-1/2tsp. Ground cloves
-1 tsp. Salt
-1/2cup Port Wine
-1 1/2cup of water

Directions

Add the berries and water to a large pot and bring to a boil over medium heat.
Lower the heat to a slow simmer and add the spices, maple syrup and port. Continue simmering and stirring frequently until the sauce is thickened.
This normally takes about 15-20 minutes,
Allow the sauce to cool before transferring to jars or freezer containers.
